A Korean Air plane landed safely Friday at Fukuoka airport, southwestern Japan, after smoke filed the cockpit, prompting the brief closure of a runway, the airport operator said.

The Boeing 737 flight from South Korea's Busan landed at the airport around 10:20 a.m. The operator said 153 passengers and nine crewmembers were on board but there were no injuries.

The accident caused minor delays to some arrivals. Fire engines also stood by for the landing but did not discharge water on the aircraft.
