Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. said Friday it will display its Mitsubishi Regional Jet, currently under development, at an air show for the first time in June.

By exhibiting the plane at the International Paris Air Show, the company hopes to give the aircraft more exposure overseas and improve the image of the medium-sized jet following repeated delivery delays.

The MRJ is Japan's first domestically developed aircraft since Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corp.'s YS-11 turboprop plane was rolled out half a century ago.

Mitsubishi Aircraft plans to ship one of four aircraft undergoing testing in the United States to the show.

No flight demonstrations are planned at the show, the company said.

The delivery of the first MRJ, originally planned for 2013, is now expected to take place in the middle of 2020.
