Today there are various music genres, however ‘anime song’ has been building steadily for some time now as a genre sold all over the world. It's still fresh in the memory that last year’s Anime Expo succeeded in laying on a huge anime song festival, ‘Anisong World Matsuri’, which showcased a great number of the genre’s popular performers.

We are very thrilled then, that Anisong World Matsuri is coming back as part of Anime Expo 2017.

Anime Expo is the biggest anime convention celebrating Japanese pop culture in North America and has been taking place every year since 1992.

So far, the organizers of Anime Expo 2017 have announced ALI PROJECT (Rozen Maiden, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) and Minori Chihara (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Beyond the Boundary, Sound! Euphonium) as set to appear.  Now, they have just revealed the second round of performers for this big festival: GARNiDELiA (Kill la Kill) and Konomi Suzuki (No-Game, No-Life).

GARNiDELiA is the duo of vocalist ‘MARiA’ and writer/composer ‘toku’.  As a duo they have sung theme songs for various titles such as Kill la Kill, The Irregular at Magic High School, Gundam Reconguista in G, GUNSLINGER STRATOS and QUALIDEA CODE. Away from the music MARiA is also a well-known fashion model, while toku works with other artists as a composer as well as handling production duties.

Konomi Suzuki is a 20-year old anime-song vocalist who cut her teeth at the All-Japan Anisong Grand Prix. She made her debut with the song, “CHOIR JAIL”, produced by Aki Hata, when she was only 15 years old and has been performing at anime song events ever since.  Suzuki has performed songs for anime such as No-Game, No-Life, Re:Zero among many others.  The vocalist is set to release three new songs this year.
