Japanese student Marin Minamiya has set her sights on sea adventures after achieving the Explorers Grand Slam by reaching the North and South poles as well as scaling the world's seven highest mountains.

"I feel happy," Minamiya, 20, told reporters in Tokyo on April 19 after she reached the North Pole on April 13, the final destination in the grand slam. "I will try globetrotting by sea routes next" and help children in need in the countries she visits, Minamiya said.

The Waseda University student kicked off her mountain challenge, which includes Mt. Everest, the world's tallest, by scaling Mt. Aconcagua in South America in January 2015. She is the youngest adventurer to pull off the grand slam, according to her management company.
