The first of the final two-stage ticketing process for Rugby World Cup 2019 will commence Tuesday with those who were unsuccessful during the initial ballot applications getting an opportunity to get their hands on seats, the local organizing committee said.

Exclusive sales for supporters who were unsuccessful in the 2018 ticket sales ballots begin at 20:19 Japan Standard Time and close just before midnight on Jan. 17, while first-come-first-served tickets sales for the general public will take place between Jan. 19 and March 31.

Fans are encouraged to secure match tickets on the Rugby World Cup website using the real-time ticket availability indicator, but they can also book through official travel agents and hospitality programs.

"With less than 250 days to go before Asia's first Rugby World Cup kicks off in Japan, it's incredibly exciting to see the phenomenal response from rugby fans here in Japan and from across the world," organizing committee CEO Akira Shimazu said in a statement.

"The huge demand for ticket points to Rugby World Cup 2019 being a truly special tournament. For anybody considering buying tickets for matches that still have availability I suggest you move as quickly as possible when the first-come-first-served sales begin."

An official source said earlier this month over 1 million of the 1.8 million tickets available for the 48 games over 12 venues have been sold.

Tickets for pool games involving hosts Japan, reigning world champions New Zealand, England and Ireland and knockout stage matches are, according to organizers, extremely limited.

The Brave Blossoms begin their 2019 World Cup campaign against Russia on Sept. 20 at Tokyo's Ajinomoto Stadium.
