U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed excitement over the outcome of the latest summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae In.

"Kim Jong Un has agreed to allow Nuclear inspections, subject to final negotiations, and to permanently dismantle a test site and launch pad in the presence of international experts," Trump tweeted. "In the meantime there will be no Rocket or Nuclear testing. Hero remains to continue being returned home to the United States. Also, North and South Korea will file a joint bid to host the 2032 Olympics. Very exciting!"

In a joint declaration signed by Kim and Moon at their summit in Pyongyang earlier Wednesday, North Korea pledged to shut down its major nuclear facilities if the United States takes reciprocal actions based on an agreement reached between Trump and Kim at their summit in June in Singapore.

The commitment by Kim came as the international community was watching closely if he would specify concrete denuclearization measures during his meeting with Moon, as the North's negotiations with the United States have been in a deadlock.
