Thailand international Chanathip Songkrasin scored his fourth J-League goal of the season for Consadole Sapporo in a 3-2 win away to V-Varen Nagasaki on Wednesday night.

The victory lifted Consadole to fourth in the J-League standings, three points behind third-place Kawasaki Frontale.

The Hokkaido club, which have spent most of their 21 seasons in the second division, are eyeing their best result in the J-League top-flight, where they have never finished above 16th place.

With scores tied 1-1, midfielder Chanathip gave Consadole the lead in the 75th minute, creating room by switching from his left to right boot before slotting home from the left side of the penalty area.

Nagasaki defender Jordy Buijs equalized 13 minutes later, before Ken Tokura scored the injury-time winner for Consadole.

One-time England international Jay Bothroyd opened the scoring for Consadole six minutes into the second half, but Nagasaki midfielder Shunya Yoneda leveled the scores in the 72nd minute.

Chanathip, who joined Consadole last season on loan from Thai side Muangthong United, struck a deal in mid-July to permanently move to the J-League club once the loan period expires in February.
