An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 struck the Aegean coast of southwestern Turkey and nearby Greek islands early Friday, leaving at least two people dead and more than a hundred injured, according to reports.

At least two people were killed and several injured on Greece's Kos island by the earthquake, Reuters news agency quoted the mayor of the island as saying.

The Associated Press also reported authorities said the powerful earthquake killed at least two people and causing more than 100 injuries.

The quake's epicenter is 10 kilometers off Turkey's coastal city of Bodrum, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
