Azumi Inoue, the singer who has performed songs for Studio Ghibli features including My Neighbor Totoro, together with daughter Yuyu, has been announced among additional artists to perform this September at J-POP SUMMIT 2017, the San Francisco Bay area’s premier Japanese pop culture event.  Also making appearances at the summit are dance unit Tokyo Gegegay, kendama specialists Zoomadanke, and anison singer May’n.

The latest artists announced to appear at J-POP SUMMIT 2017 join a roster of previously announced live performers that include BAND-MAID, Babyraids Japan, Misaki Iwasa (formerly of AKB48) and YANAKIKU.

Held annually since 2009, the summit has gone on to become one of the world’s largest Japanese pop culture events.  The 2017 edition will see two days of live music featuring performances from a wide range of top Japanese pop, anison (anime song), rock, dance, enka (Japanese soul) and electronica artists set to complement an impressive roster of immersive experiences and attractions all inspired by Japanese pop culture.

J-POP SUMMIT 2017 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9 and 10 at the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture located in San Francisco’s Marina district. Summit goers will get to experience the festival’s central theme of ARTS, EATS and INNOVATIONS; a celebration of J-pop culture featuring live music, Japanese food and travel attractions, and interactive tech.  Expect also ramen vendors, sake-tasting, and additional events highlighted by celebrity “Guests of Honor”.
